And "NT Backup and Restore" was able to recognize it. I have now connected USB Toshiba HARD drive into the Vista machine. I did and was able to copy the large bkf file (it took about 12 hours). GEEK SQUAD came to the rescue. Agent Hugo Westminster, CO Best Buy suggested I get the error "insufficient disk space" because USB Toshiba HARD drive is formatted in "FAT32" format of file at the factory.

And the Toshiba HD is automatically recognized by Vista. I can map to the NAS MyBookLive and see the bkf file. OK, so I decide to use the Vista machine to copy the bkf file.

I guess this means that the C XP disk doesn't have enough free space, because the MyBookLive and Toshiba HD have enough free space. I tried on the XP machine, and I got an error that says I don't have enough disk space. I figured I'd just copy the NAS MyBookLive to the Toshiba HD bkf. So my next bright idea was to buy a Toshiba 1 TB USB HD. It does not seem to have all the options restore from a network drive. But when I ran, the NT utility doesn't seem to be able to find the MyBookLive disk.

But the Vista restore utility had a link explaining that I could download a backup NT and restore and it would be able to restore a bkf file type in a Vista machine. I discovered that the restoration of Vista does not recognize the bkf file types. So now, I need to restore the file the MyBookLive drive on the Vista machine bkf. I am referring to the business link D-Link, Netgear, Qnap and Synology. And, in looking at the options, none of the sellers of that I would normally think VMware still certified. But I'm hesitant to put something with firmware beta in production. In my lab at home, I use a Netgear ReadyNAS Ultra 6 on beta firmware that works very well. The SAN\NAS will be mainly used as a target for backup for Veaem (and), but it seems prudent to support iSCSI specification where our needs change in the future and we must provide the ESXi host iSCSI access. We plan on 3 virtual machines running on the internal disks of the ESXi host. We have trouble finding an inexpensive SAN\NAS iSCSI device. The ESXi host is a Dell, or Supermicro system all of the ESXi compatibility list, that was the easy part so far. He comes to support 15 local users and 15 others in remote offices or on the ground. ESXi host is a Windows SBS 2011 server, second is a Server 2008 (application server with very low load) system, and the third will be a simple file server running FTP and some shared folders for internal use (we could easily move the files to the SAN\NAS server).
I'm working with an engineering company who will move several physical servers to a single machine running 3 1 VMs.
